Go Tigers, Go!

Can you believe it's already football season??  I know, I know, you're thinking, "But, she doesn't even like football. What does she care?" Well, to put it simply, while I don't care a lick about the game, I do, however, like lots of the things that come with it...cold beer, sinful sweets, clever chip and dip combos, lively conversation, and of course, the fun and festive door decor that is all so characteristic of this annual past-time. Last football season, I made burlap footballs for fans from Nebraska to Alabama to Ohio, but I never got a single request for my hometown University of Memphis. Well, that all changed last week and here are the results. Let me know what you think, Tigers fans!

Baby, baby, baby, oh!

It is baby season around these parts (isn't it always?), and I have been keeping busy with lots of baby-themed burlap door hangers. Here are two of my favorite ones from lately.

Lovely letters

The burlap letters have got to be one of my favorite door sign designs so far....maybe because each one is so custom and personalized or maybe because it's one of the only designs I have that doesn't have a million "copies" out there ;). At any rate, I love doing them, and they are always a great go-to, year-round door hanger for anyone and everyone. Most of the requests I get are for ones like these......classic, raw burlap trimmed in chocolate brown with a fun pop of color in the ribbon.

But I've also had the privilege of doing some "baby letters" to go in nurseries, on hospital doors, or at baby showers (or all of the above), and they have been so fun too! Here are two of them....

All of the letters sell for $40 and can be completely customized to your liking. Happy letter loving!

Stars and stripes forever!

In preparation for the upcoming 4th of July holiday, I have been painting lots of stars and stripes for what has felt like FOREVER! But, I can't complain.....I'm proud to be an American and I love, love, love Independence Day and all that comes with it.....the neighborhood parades, corn on the cob, American flags on every corner, strawberry daiquiris, red checked tablecloths, and of course, the fireworks! My mom and I used to like to rank the fireworks we saw as we sat in the harbor of my hometown every 4th of July. Some deserved an "ooh", some deserved an "aahh", and some left us in silence and utter awe. This 4th of July holiday, let us remember what we should really be in awe of......our FREEDOM!

Flip flop summer

In the words of Kenny Chesney.....
"No worries, just good vibrations and lazy days in style;
It's a flip flop summer, It's a flip flop summer"

As the days become hotter and longer, my wardrobe is quickly becoming smaller and smaller and now consists mostly of cotton dresses and sandals. Hence the inspiration for my newest burlap door hanger.....a polka dotted flip flop! It's a fun and casual way to welcome your friends and family this Summer.

I am still searching for other summer-inspired door hanger ideas, so if you have something you want to see, let me know and I'll give it a whirl!

Keep cool!

April showers bring.....May flowers!

When I was a little girl, the month of May meant the annual Maypole dance at school, the emergence of shorts and short-sleeve shirts, but best of all, the end of school and the beginning of the much anticipated summer break. As an adult, admittedly, not much has changed. I still get a thrill when I pull my shorts out of a box for the first time, and I still can't sleep the night before the big summer beach vacation....particularly now that I have little ones of my own. But most of all, May, to me, means flowers.....beautiful, vibrant, glorious flowers that are a sign of all of the fun and happy memories that are to be made in the next few months to come. I am celebrating May's long-awaited arrival with these bright burlap flowers on my door to welcome guests and neighbors. How will you celebrate?

Happy May everyone!

Calling the hogs!

A sweet customer from Arkansas challenged me with the task of making my first Razorback burlap door hanger.....then she asked me to make 5! I took a deep breath and channeled the Arkansas fan somewhere deep down in me and this lil' creature was born....

Even though my 2 year old called it a crocodile, I thought it turned out pretty darn cute.....for a hog, I mean. Woo pig sooie!

Hoppy Easter!

Springtime is officially H-E-R-E and, ready or not, Easter is right around the corner. To help me get into the spirit, I've been busy making some fun burlap door hangers that are just right for this season and bursting with bright, juicy colors. Speaking of juicy, don't you just want to sink your teeth into this cute carrot?

And I'm not an egg kind-of-gal, but I am loving this chevron printed Easter egg! It's traditional and yet a little funky with the mod print and bold colors.

But to remind us of the true reason for the season, I have really been won over by this cute polka dotted cross. Here is it with wording on it.....
And here it is plain.
This was requested by a friend of mine who plans to use it from Easter all the way through the Spring months. Not a bad idea for those of us who want a little more bang for our buck. Just might be making those next for my own doors!

Hoppy Easter!

Anyone still out there?

Hello again friends, fans, and followers! I am finally all moved in to our new home and done with my big fundraising event that I plan every year around this time. This means that not only am I regaining my sanity, but I am s-l-o-w-l-y getting back into the groove of creating door hangers. I haven't quite gotten up the courage to reopen my Etsy shop, but if you have had something in mind and are ready to place an order, just email me and I'd love to make it for you! With that being said, here are just a few door hangers that I've made during my little sabbatical. Enjoy and thanks for sticking around!
